Steps to reproduce
- Open a custom tab (e.g. tap a link in Gmail)
- Tap the open-in-Firefox button on the custom tab's navbar, and carefully watch the site identification area (the equivalent of the URL bar on the custom tab) as the switchover to full Firefox occurs.
Expected behavior
No changes as the custom tab animates offscreen.
Actual behavior
Several odd changes happen to the site ID area (not always all of these are visible):
(A) The back/forward icons become disabled (which make them disappear in some cases per bug 1912642)
(B) The lock icon changes to a broken-lock-icon
(C) The lock icon disappears entirely, and the page title snaps to the left, and the smaller-text domain name subtitle is replaced with a label saying "Search or enter address". (If you have a dark Firefox theme and a light system theme, this small text also becomes light-gray-on-white which makes it hard to read.)
Device information
- Firefox version: 132.0a1 (latest Nightly)
- Android device model: Pixel 8
- Android OS version: 14
Any additional information?
I first noticed this in someone else's screencast -- around t=10s in attachment 9422110 [details] (on bug 1916297).

Here's a slow-motion playback of the attached screencast, to make the issues easier to see (right around t=1s, when the scrubber is ~30% of the way through the video)

Here's a series of screenshots taken from my screencast, showing the initial state and then the 3 bad/unnecessarily-changed states that I described in comment 0. (These are in temporal order.)
- first: the initial/good state (with backarrow showing up as solid because I've navigated, forward-arrow missing due to bug 1912642)
- below that, states A-C from comment 0 here, with red circles/arrows showing the UI that's changing in each frame.
