Steps to reproduce:
retrieve mails from ac-rennes.fr
mail.ac-rennes.fr // port 993 // SSL/TLS // normal password

I have tried "repair folder", I have tried deleting .msf files, but to no avail.

This is not a support forum.
Please check all the following.
re: Port 993 - so this is an imap mail account.
Email may have been downloaded into Spam or filtered to Trash folder -
Select 'Spam' folder to force a sync with server.
Select 'Trash' folder to force a sync with server.
See if any folder has 'New unread mail':
View > Folders > 'Unread folders'
From Menu Bar:
View > Folders > All
View > Threads > 'All' - also select 'Ignored Threads'
If you see any threads with a red circle in the thread column header in list, they are set up as ignored.
Right click on email and select 'Thread' and click on either 'ignored thread' or 'ignored subthread' (if any selected) to deselect.
Check - have you got any filtering switched on.
Quick Filter - if any icon has a blue line click on it to disable.
Check to see if you have any Message Filters that may offer info.
'Tools' > 'Message Filters'
Assuming you have enabled the filter log - clickon 'Filter Log' to see what if any emails were filtered. It should tell you the destination of any filtered emails.
Hi there,
I'm sorry I didn't post on the forum first. Having been using Thunderbird for almost 2 decades, I assumed this was a bug I should report. Thanks for having taken the time to answer me.
This is indeed an Imap account.
- There is no filter on it
- Forced sync of Spam and trash folders did not change a thing
- When displaying "unread folders" I get a correct unread mails count (checked on webmail) but none of the mails I received after september 18th are displayed.
- When I close the client, delete .msf files, and restart Thunderbird, no change: last mail is dated Sept. 18th, 15:33 (I checked on webmail : I received 23 new mails since that date, all having been counted, but none displayed)
- I selected "Ignored Threads" from View menu : no change.
- I double-checked that I have no quick filter enabled.
I checked on Thunderbird 128.2.3esr (on windows), all mails are correctly displayed.
I posted the issue both on the the email provider ticket system and on thunderbird forum (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1465413)
After quite some testing with the help of the forum, I can confirm that the beta version (131.0b5 and b6) is affected by this issue, be it in Windows 11, Ubuntu or Debian, whereas everything is working perfectly in stable version, on the same platforms.
