User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:130.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/130.0
Steps to reproduce:
Right clicked on Thunderbird icon pinned to task bar
Selected "Write new Message"
In message window, try addon functionality
Actual results:
Addons, specifically "BorderColors D" and "LanguageTool" show no signs of working. Presumably the other addons don't work either, but I don't have a way to test that assumption.
Expected results:
Addons should work as designed. They work fine if the main TB program is started first and "send new message selected" from within the main window.
PS: This also got me wondering if this is related to the issue where I have to hit send on hotmail messages twice to actually get it to send.

Thanks for bringing this up. The reason for this behavior is that Thunderbird did not fully load (there is no main Thunderbird window). We fixed a couple of similar startup issues already, but not this one. The solution will be that a context click on that menu item will first fully startup Thunderbird and then open the compose window.
(In reply to John Bieling (:TbSync) from comment #1)
That seems to be more of a workaround than a solution. The promise of the context click "Write new message" option is that you can quickly fire off an email without the resource usage from the main TB program.
If it's the only option make it so TB fully closes after the email is send at least.

IIRC, we need full Thunderbird startup anyway, not fully loading Thunderbird may have other unknown issues as well. But I will discuss this with the team.
