User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/129.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
start Thunderbird (128.3.0) open new Mail
Actual results:
It seems that the content is completely missing.
in first the msg shows an attachment. starting Thunderbrd again some html code is shown wich does have nothing to do with the original mail. all such mails show the same content.
If a mail was already opend by another Mail Client, it is received correct.
Expected results:
receive the and store the whole message

We're interested in looking at the relevant .msf and mbox files, if you're able to share them.
I repaired the folder after the last advice. Now the emails are correct.
One thing I forgot to tell you, I have some filters set up, this may be causing the effect?
And it only happens with new messages and only at the start,
Messages that are already open, e.g. in the web interface, are saved correctly. IMAP is used.
At the moment it works fine, I will come back if it happens again.

Had a user today (well, overnight) who could not properly open email and/or attachments. Her work ticket on this was "After Thunderbird update, can't open xyz important email I need to do my job" (paraphrasing).
Very embarrassing for me, and more so for Thunderbird. Another nail in the coffin. Gotta reel in these problems (this and the nstmp's filling up hard drives), or another 150 Thunderbird users will be gone before you know it.

Did folder properties > repair fix the folder?
These are all imap accounts?

there is a setting in account>server settings > check for mails on start. this for me makes no sense while the timeout for check is set.
I was hoping, that setting f.e. 10 min tb will check mails past ten min after start.
it didn't have an affect on the behave for the, first mails are still corrupt.
since the latest Update the first mails are fine
THX to all

Dear Worcester12345, may I ask, did you have a chance to try 128.3.3 ?
After repairing, does 128.3.3 still create corruption for you?
