User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.2) Gecko/20021120 Netscape/7.01 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.2) Gecko/20021120 Netscape/7.01 <i/> and <b/> should be effectively ignored, but result in italicised and bold text respectively. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Browse the URL above. I am using XSLT to generate XHTML, and the <i/> tags are obviously easily gotten rid of. I noticed the problem in Netscape, and it is the same in Mozilla 1.0.2 - Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.2) Gecko/20021216
Sorry, you send this file as text/html, which means "render as HTML". Mozilla could not parse it as XML for the reasons listed at http://www.hixie.ch/advocacy/xhtml. I think it is same as bug 190780 (<a /> don't treated as closed tag in XHTML send as text/html).
I think you're right - the same document but as p1.xml, renders fine (see http://analogplusplus.jessen.ch/p1.xml)
