I have the sidebar settings to hidden and positioned on the right side.
When I expanded it from the toolbar menu, I could see it moving from the left side of the window to the correct position on the right.

This will be addressed as part of bug 1923844

Testing this out on mac now that bug 1923844 landed it certainly solves the animating of the sidebar across the screen, but the snapping of the content seems a bit glitchy when running the sidebar to the right. It seems like that potentially also needs updating to account for the different direction as it seems to jump to the right and back again when un-hiding the sidebar on the right.

Yeah I noticed the same yesterday, although I don't recall seeing the issue when testing Emilio's patch for this. :emilio would you mind investigating this potentially as a follow-up to this one, as it seems like the original issue has been fixed (the sidebar flying in from the left rather than the right), we just need to address this new content area glitchy-ness now.
Update: I've written up bug 1924812 to address this new issue, but :emilio agreed it should be tracked separately and not hold up this bug being verified as fixed.

Yeah let's close this. Can you file a bug with an screencast of what you're describing? How much the content "snaps" depends on the layout of the site, right? Or are you seeing some other flickering I'm missing? Does it happen only when the sidebar is hidden? Or also with the "expand and collapse sidebar" mode?

I've written up bug 1924812 to address this new issue, but :emilio agreed it should be tracked separately and not hold up this bug being verified as fixed. It seems like it happens in both scenarios as long as it's positioned on the right.
