Steps to reproduce:

Open a message (bug is both in the 3-bane window and in the standalone message window)

Actual results:

For some rare messages (but it has been the second email in a few days), the email looks empty (or sometimes only the header appears if it has been forwarded), but pressing Ctrl+U reveals in the source that the content is still present. One faulty email looks like:

Bonjour =C3=A0 tous,

In this email, everything after "Object" is hidden.

Expected results:

Message should be visible.

This might be a symptom of a bug we have found in Thunderbird 128, but so far I'm not aware of any reports about it from Thunderbird 115.

If you're willing to experiment a little, load one of the messages in the 3-pane window, open the Error Console (Ctrl+Shift+J) and paste this:

tabmail.currentAboutMessage.gMessage.getStringProperty("storeToken")

then let us know what the result is.

You should be able to recover the broken messages by right-clicking on the folder, choosing Properties, then clicking on the Repair Folder button.

[edit] Updated the code to paste, as what I wrote originally won't work in 115.

Thanks for your answer. So I tried to upgrade to the latest version available in my distribution (nixos unstable), which is 128.3.1esr (while online I can only download up to 128.3.2esr). Is the bug supposed to be fixed in this release? This is a bit better here as the bug seems to be fixed for the first message, but not for the second… (weird) Running the above command gives me a given number: `

>> tabmail.currentAboutMessage.gMessage.getStringProperty("storeToken")
"120593"

What am I supposed to do with this?

What am I supposed to do with this?

Tell me about it. Unfortunately it's not the answer I was expecting so I'm not sure what's going on here.

Did you try to repair the folder?

Yes, I tried to repair it, no luck.

Please update to 128.3.3 (Help > About) and post your results. Thanks
