Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20030206 Chimera/0.6+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20030206 Chimera/0.6+ When mozilla automatically starts a download without asking me what the filename is, when the download is complete, it does not rename the filename. (Therefore, in the new Downloads window the Show in Finder button remains greyed out). When I download via right clicking and choosing "Download Link Target..." this works fine. I've been seeing this bug for a few weeks now, but today I finally thought what might be the problem. My current download directory is in off of my home directory which is on a shared volume on a server that is automounted. When this is the download directory, I have this problem. However, i just now changed the download directory to a a directory that is local to my harddrive and things worked just fine. The file was renamed from the scrambled name it downloaded as, and the "Show in Finder" button became available. Right now, my guess is that this has to do with the mounted drive. (Personally, whenever Chimera goes to download a file, i want it to ask me what i want to call it. I never want it to automatically start without asking me. So i'd prefer that to be a preference) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Revising summary.
Summary: renaming of file when automatically downloading a file (or a non-right click download) fails → Automatic download file rename fails when saving to network-mounted disk volume
