Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:134.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/134.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Click "Sign in to Sync" from hamburger menu, or navigate to Sync page in Settings and click "Sign in" button under text stating "Please sign in to reconnect" followed by the account email.
  2. When greeted by the login page with my existing account details, enter the password and click the "Sign in" button.

Actual results:

Initially it would return an error on the next page, but after some tinkering I was able to get it to proceed "properly". I added a boolean setting "identity.fxaccounts.pairing.enabled" set to "true" in the advanced settings page, which caused the page to return with a prompt to "Sync your Firefox experience" and buttons for whether or not I have Firefox for mobile. Clicking "Not now" on that page then brings me to the account management page, where I can see that I recently "signed into" the client, however the client does not seem to recognize this and continues to display "Sign in to Sync" in the hamburger menu and "Please sign in to reconnect" in the Sync page in Settings. I do, however, receive emails to my accounts stating a new sign-in has occurred.

Expected results:

The client should recognize that I have signed into my account and present me with the options to sync my data to my account and the other devices linked to it.

That feature is only enabled on Daily, and not quite ready yet as you found out. So expected.
