User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/130.0.0.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Opened Thunderbird
  2. Thunderbird downloaded emails from ISP
  3. Reviewed subjects lines in main view
  4. selected email for detailed view.
  5. Subject line in main view does not match subject line in detailed view. See attachment
  6. Body of email in detailed view shows an Apple email.

Actual results:

1)See attached where the blue line is the subject line in main view. The below email view, the subject line is missing and body is apple. see attached.
2) I then logged into ISP to view emails on ISP. The subject line is correct and the detailed view shows the same subject line and correct body.
3) in ISP I then forwarded the email to myself.
4) opened up thunderbird and saw the forwarded email was correct.

Expected results:

The email from ISP that Thunderbird downloaded should have been correct the first time. Several other people in my family also has the same issue.

Which exact version are you using?

IMAP folder corruption is a known issue, see bug 1890230. Some changes were shipped in 128.3.3 that might have fixed it. If you're using 128.3.3 or 128.4.0 and still see the problem, then those changes didn't fix it.

Workaround: Repair the folder: Right-click on the folder, Properties, Repair Folder.

Which exact version are you using?

I had been using several of the most recent versions I am on 128.4 now with no issues. This issue happened about 2 weeks ago. What version was it then.

Flags: needinfo?(colby)

So the issue happened 2 weeks ago and you reported it 2 days ago?

As I wrote, some changes to combat the issue were shipped on 22nd October in 128.3.3 (https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/128.3.3esr/releasenotes/, that issue isn't mentioned there). If it happened two weeks ago (21st October), it's possible that you were using 128.3.2 or earlier. According to the screenshot, the broken message was of 24th October, but it's unclear which version you were using then.

Please report here if you or the other people in your family experience the issue with 128.4.0 or later.
