We currently have support for using the official DXC build pulled from the windows SDK with an opt-in via mozconfig. This bug is about enabling it by default on nightly only (and providing an opt-out in mozconfig).

:nical is there anything you would like to mention in a release note for this? (Process info)
We could include it in the nightly only release notes for extra visibility.

This won't ride the train (until WebGPU does) and is only affecting WebGPU which is still in a lot of churn, so I don't think it's release-note worthy.

Thanks for taking a look.
fwiw we have nightly only notes for features that are enabled in nightly but not riding the train. They are only ever included in the nightly notes if you ever want to include anything.
See for some examples https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/136.0a1/releasenotes/
