If a page opens a popup window, no matter whether you allow pop up windows, will
cause popup control to work improperly.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to a page that opens a popup window, and you can keep your preferences to
set popup window not to be displayed, for example, www.times.com
2.Creat a new tab in the main window
3.In the new tab, go to another page, for example, www.asahi.com
4.Click on the menu: Bookmarks==Bookmark this group of tabs...
5.Close all existing windows of mozilla
6.Open a new window with NO PAGE displayed
7.Go to the tabgroup-bookmark you have just stored in your bookmark folder
8.An unexpected tab called "(Untitled)" (in the case of www.times.com this tab
is called "Untitled")appears which is actually the popup window of the New York
Times's page's popup window or the popup window of your selected page( the page
you used instead of www.times.com above)
Actual Results:
An unexpected tab actually is the popup window is displayed and popup control
does not work properly
Expected Results:
Do not display any popup no matter whether they are tabgrouped bookmark or other
URLs once you set your preferences to do so.
IF, you open the tabgroup bookmark contain a popup window from a window already
displaying a page, that means you opend a page and in the same window click the
tabgroup bookmark, then nothing goes wrong.
Summary: Popup window cause Popup control to work improperly → Tab bookmark contain Popup window cause Popup control to work improperly

I think you need walked through this. Don't take this the wrong way. If you
start mozilla with a blank page and then open the grouped bookmark (for example
there are two of them) you will have 1. an untitled tab(you started with a blank
one) 2. tab with some page and 3. another tab with someother page. When you have
one tab opened and you open two more, mozilla is assuming you want to keep the
page you started on. For example, if you automaticaly start you browser to a
home page(it opens with that page, in the previous situation you didn't start
with one) and if you wanted to visit something else (2 other sites) at the same
time while your home page is loading. I hope you see the picture.
I actually did what you have wrote and it took me a second to realize what you
were trying to do. I don't understand what you mean by a pop up but i am
guessing that your browser is set to hide tabs when only one is present so you
are thinking that you are opening the grouped links as just two instead of the
initial blank one and then all three tabs are shown as soon as you have more
than one. After all Bookmarking the group of tabs not the same as individual
book marks. I know its easier to group a whole bunch of pages with one command
but if you want to separate these groups you can do so in manage book mark.
Just go to the groupmarks and copy them individual to the main tree of the bookmaks.
Well, i think this should be an enhancement if, i just say if, that when click
on a tabgroup bookmark when a blank page without any other tabs is displayed, do
just display the pages in the tabgroup without the blank page. Since when click
on a normal bookmark in a blankpage, mozilla do not open the bookmark in a new
tab or window and let the untitled blank page remain, it just switch to the
bookmark you click on. This is my very humble opinion.
Severity: normal → enhancement
Summary: Tab bookmark contain Popup window cause Popup control to work improperly → Tab bookmark click behavior enhancement
