RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1947917

People

(Reporter: cragsand, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 12; Mobile; rv:135.0) Gecko/135.0 Firefox/135.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Play a YouTube video or any other embedded player.
  2. The audio crackles and pops every 2-10 seconds. It's not super obvious.

The issue is only present in Firefox Android V135 and forward. Also occurs on Firefox Android Beta V136.
It is present in all embedded video players I've used and extremely annoying.
Device is a Samsung Galaxy S10E.

Actual results:

Millisecond long audio interrups inconsistently buy regularly enough that it's very noticable when playing music.

I've included a video recording showing the problem and comparing it with Fennec V134 where the issue is not present. It was too large to post directly to bugzilla so I uploaded it here: https://m.youtube.com/shorts/_oIkQUjLYUk
The testing video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iR-K2rUP86M

The problem is actually worse than what is heard in the recording, likely the screen recording encoder makes the pops sporter than they really are.

Expected results:

Audio playing normally.

Found it while searching but realized it's pretty old and potentially unrelated so I created a new bug report.

Thank you for your report! Merging this over with 1947917 since it looks like a similar issue.
