FYI, the last part of the URL is a random token that allows Weasis to retrieve data from server.

Actual results:

Using Firefox 132.0.2 and previous release: launching Weasis which loads and displays pictures.
Using Firefox 133 and later, including last release 136: Weasis application does not launch, nothing is displayed, no warning. The developer mode (F12) console intercepts this message:

Thanks a lot Dave. Setting network.url.useDefaultURI parameter to false allows to workaround the issue. Bug report can be closed.

Hi,
It seems like this can also be mitigated by adding weasis to the pref network.url.simple_uri_unknown_schemes list.
Note that network.url.simple_uri_unknown_schemes_enabled and network.url.useDefaultURI should be true for this to work.
These values can all be checked/modified via about:config.

ALIANT, are you able to confirm this?

Flags: needinfo?(edgul) → needinfo?(support)

Valentin, if this works we should consider adding this the the remote settings list or address in rust-url (or both).

Waiting for reporter to confirm if comment 5 workaround fixes their issue.
Additionally, could you provide some info about the weasis scheme? How many users are likely to use this software?

Hello, thanks everyone for your help. I found a solution, which consist in including the character "?" in the URL such as "weasis://?$dicom:rs --url="http://10.1.22.19:8080{{qidoBasePath}}" -r "studyUID={{studyUID}}" --query-ext "&includedefaults=false" -H "Authorization: Bearer {{access_token}}""

Reporter was able to mitigate the issue by themselves.
