This resolution happened after start of InterOp, and there's no test for this in position-area-parsing.html as of right now.

Fixed the behavior to comply with all WPT tests in bug 1987564. Emilio opened a spec issue to potentially change that behavior, but I've structured the code to make his suggested change trivial to implement, and we can open another bug if that's the direction the spec goes.
