Steps to reproduce:

Tried to add an University of Victoria email, their admin has allowlisted Thunderbird for DESKTOP only, not mobile because of MDM polices. Using the experimental new account UI design in Thunderbird 137.0.2 on Windows 11.

Actual results:

The new account UI keeps spinning forever, spitting error messages like "Exchange auth error" and hangs

Expected results:

Should detect Microsoft 365 support in ISPDB, and proceed to account creation with MS 365 servers with OAuth 2.0.

Logs can be provided on request.

OS: Unspecified → Windows 11
Hardware: Unspecified → Desktop

Does it discover the settings if you don't use the account hub? (The old version)
If yes, probably bug 1957591.
And yes logs could be useful.

Yes, if I do NOT use the account hub, it discovers server settings. But this is different from bug 1957591 because the university server uses OAuth2 for IMAP and SMTP as well as supporting proprietary exchange protocol (which is only supported via third-party addon at the moment)

I do not know how to collect logs without revealing sensitive information like OAuth 2.0 tokens etc I guess that is suppressed by default
I will certainly collect logs if given the instructions.

To a greater certainty, the behaviour is different from the other bug you mentions. The Accounts Hub UI completely hangs and keeps spinning trying endlessly after the "Exchange auth failure" error. This is a totally different bug and not a duplicate of the bug 1957591.
