Steps to reproduce:
- Using Thunderbird/Betterbird, using its Address Book, add a new contact. Including four (4) cell/mobile phone numbers for this same user. To be able to reproduce this challenge, it is important to include at least one dot into the first phone number. For example:
• Mobile 1: 111.456.2222
• Mobile 2: (222) 456-2222
• Mobile 3: 333-456-2222
• Mobile 4: 4444562222
The attached screenshot "Step-1---Create_Contact---Screenshot-1461.png" shows this step
- Using "Advanced Address Book Search" search for Mobile 4: 4444562222 Not result are return. This is the challenge.

Details
Below is the same as above. But with details for those interested.
The needed end result is, using "Advanced Address Book Search", I need to search all phone numbers for all contacts. Not just the first phone number per contact. Most of my contacts have multiple phone numbers of the same type. For example Mobiles. Maybe my original question was not clear about this.
I have multiple address books. Some local. Some remote. Some I own and can control the formatting of phone number. I mean with or without dot. The challenge is some address book I have no control over. I do not need any. Because they are maintained by people who have different comfort zones. I culture thing. I encourage them to format their phone number in any ways to their liking. While at the same time, I need to search all of the above. Regardless if they include dot or not. The dot(s) is very popular in Canada west coast and central area. Dash are more frequent in Canada est. Same worldwide with other regions and local formats. To each their own preference.
Using this on device 1
• Betterbird/Thunderbird 128.9.2esr-bb25 (64-bit) from Arch Linux repository
• Arch Linux latest version
• KDE Plasma latest version
Using this on device 2
• Betterbird/Thunderbird 128.9.2esr-bb25 (64-bit) from https://flathub.org/apps/eu.betterbird.Betterbird
• Debian Bookworm 12
• GNOME 43.9
Temporary workaround
This CardBook add-on at https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/cardbook/ CardBook is able to, very quickly and easily, search all contacts' phone numbers. Including any phone number text formatting. For example:
Mobile 1: 111.456.2222
Mobile 2: (222) 456-2222
Mobile 3: 333-456-2222
Mobile 4: 4444562222
In this example above, using CardBook, when I searched for 4444562222. I get a successful result(s). Joy. This is the needed end result. But with Thunderbird's built-in Address Book.
Actual results:
Not result are return. This is the challenge.
