Steps to reproduce:

Running 128.10.0 ESR updated automatically to 128.10.1 May 14 or 138.0
Open POP email inbox

Actual results:

Select an email to preview window is blank.
Double Click Email and empty blank page appears in email reader GUI.
Emails in my IMAP accounts work fine, problem only an issue on POP email accounts

Expected results:

We expect to be able to read emails after upgrades. Downgrade to 128.10.0 I can read the email again. Note This issue happened with 137 -> 138 version update on 5/14/2025 as well

It's unclear to me that a patch uplifted to 128.10.1 will have caused this. And as far as I know there are no other reports, but it has been out only a little more than a day.

This shows update to 136.0 resolves the issue.

This shows the same issue with 138.0. Downgrade to 136.0 resolves the issue.

Greetings, I am happy to retest to reproduce. I confirmed this issue on several computers with both version 128.10.0 esr upgrade to 128.10.1 and this started when we had a system running 136.0 upgrade to 138.0. All machines fail test with POP3 995 SSL mailbox yet work properly with IMAP. See the 4 screen shots attached before and after.

Downgrade to 128.0 ESR to resolve the issue. I confirmed downgrade to 136.0 also resolves the issue.

Is any part of the Thunderbird stored on a network drive?

After updating from version 128.10.0 to 128.10.1, I noticed a similar issue:
When opening .eml files, only blank windows appear, although the subject is displayed in the title bar.
The eml-files are in fact stored on a network drive and accessed by an UNC-Path.

Yes the profiles are stored on a UNC network drive. Confirmed duplicate of bug 1966256. We will disable updates and wait for next release that supports network access to profile.

Yes. Waiting for next release that supports UNC.
