1967149 - conversation view order in message pane not respecting message order

Steps to reproduce:

Receive a bunch of mails in one conversation and not unfolding the conversation, but selecting the parent item, having the main mail list ordered by date descending

Actual results:

The message view (right pane) shows the list of mails in this conversation, starting with the oldest message on top instead of newest. Unfolding the conversation in message list however, shows the items in correct order and the message view shows the content of the newest message.
This behavior is consistent in Thunderbird 138.0.1 and in 128.10.1esr.

Expected results:

When selecting the parent item of the conversation, it should either just unfold the conversation and show latest message, or the items list in message view should follow the "order by" settings in the message list.
