Enable layer compositor
Open a LARGE image file that has some huge dimensions. An image that you will need to click on to come to full-size and then you can scroll on it. Maybe try https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/96/The_Garden_of_earthly_delights.jpg
Once it loads, click on it to open it in its full size
Enable debug-dcomp-redraw thingy
On the full-size image, scroll using the touchpad
AR: The whole image and the whole browser redraw
ER: With the defauly compositor, only the image redraws

Additional point: I noticed that with both the compositors, with the image in full-zoom, random small redraws occur inside the image.
