bug 1975262 is removing huggingchat from the list of chatbot providers where https://support.mozilla.org/kb/ai-chatbot also has a table of providers
https://huggingface.co/chat already redirects to a "closed" message as of today but potentially since yesterday https://huggingface.co/spaces/huggingchat/chat-ui/discussions/747
we should at least indicate something like "HuggingChat (no longer available since July 1, 2025)" in the table and remove ", HuggingChat by Hugging Face" from the initial paragraph as soon as we can get it updated. the screenshot in the article does include huggingchat but probably not as urgent to fix
katie, do you have preferred wording for how to indicate it's not available?

Here's what I was thinking for the table of providers in the "Learn about chatbot providers" section:
- Keep HuggingChat as a row
- Delete text that's currently there under both columns
- Replace current text with this: HuggingChat has closed as of July 1, 2025. So, it’s no longer available in the Firefox sidebar.
- “closed as of July 1, 2025” can link to HC’s announcement about it: https://huggingface.co/spaces/huggingchat/chat-ui/discussions/747
Attached a (very hacky) visual of what I've described.
The goal would be for, right now, to not simply 'remove' / erase HuggingChat from the table altogher. Will want to communicate for some amount of time that yes, HC was a provider at one point... but is not any longer.
Then, perhaps, in a few months we can revisit and remove it altogether if there turn out to be minimal support questions coming in.

Please can I pick this one up.
Hi Paul, thanks for offering to help! Since you already have two articles assigned for the Firefox 141 release, and this one is due by EOW, I’d recommend focusing on your current assignments and leaving this one to the content team.
Appreciate your continued support!
I have the capacity to pick this one up right now. Of the four that I have, three are waiting on staff and one is a quick fix (I am also off work this week so can easily pick up another).

Hi Paul, really appreciate your willingness to jump in.
However, given the short deadline for this request and the fact that I didn’t have visibility into the status of your other assignments or your availability this week, at least until you've posted the above commend, we’ve already made the decision to reassign it.
We’ll definitely keep your availability into account for future requests.
