First make sure that the default download location is set to the desktop in the Firefox settings. Then press Control Shift S, select a part of the screen, and hit enter to save.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

This bug should belong to Firefox::Screenshots component.
There is recent change about this (bug 1838053).
niklas do you have any idea?

Hey Tanky! Thanks for filing this bug!
We recently changed the screenshots download behavior but the default behavior should have remained the same.
Could you please provide the pref values for the following prefs:
browser.screenshots.dir
browser.screenshots.folderList
browser.download.dir
browser.download.useDownloadDir
Thanks!
If I understand you correctly, I need to go to: about:config, and the search for those?
Here are the results:
browser.screenshots.dir: None
browser.screenshots.folderList: 1
browser.download.dir: /home/mycomputersname/Desktop
browser.download.useDownloadDir: true
Hope this helps. Thanks.

I think this bug should be fixed by bug 1974983 which just landed a couple of days ago.

(In reply to Tanky from comment #4)
If I understand you correctly, I need to go to: about:config, and the search for those?
Here are the results:
browser.screenshots.dir: None
browser.screenshots.folderList: 1
browser.download.dir: /home/mycomputersname/Desktop
browser.download.useDownloadDir: trueHope this helps. Thanks.
Yes, thank you!
We recently added a change where you can specify the save directory for screenshots.
If you change the following prefs to something like below, it will "fix" the behavior.
browser.screenshots.dir: home/computerName/someDirectoryForScreenshotDownloads
browser.screenshots.folderList: 2
The settings are kinda hidden right now because we don't have a section for screenshots in settings yet but you can read about the prefs here.
I'm going to close this bug as duplicate to bug 1974983 because I think it's the same issue and I think it will be fixed by the patch in that bug.
Please re-open this bug or file a new one if you continue to experience the bug!
Thanks!
Thank you very much Niklas Baumgardner. Changing those settings you mentioned fixed the issue for now.
