When using Extended Pins in Firefox, several pinned site icons fail to load on startup, consistently appearing as blank tiles instead of showing their respective icons.

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:142.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/142.0
Steps to reproduce:
-
Open Firefox.
-
Enable and use the Extended Pins feature on the homepage.
-
Pin multiple websites to the new tab/start page.
-
Close and relaunch the browser.
Actual results:
Each time I launch Firefox, several of the pinned site icons appear blank or are not loaded. The tiles are visible, but the icons do not display correctly. This happens consistently.
Expected results:
All pinned site icons should load properly every time the browser starts, allowing for easy visual navigation.

I am not sure what Extended Pins are, or how to use them?
Is this just the regular pinning feature, or an addon or something?
It looks like the thumbnails are broken. Does anything else break? like if you click on the shortcut, does that still go to the proper page?

Thanks for the follow-up.
Just to clarify — these are called Shortcuts in Firefox, and I have the “3 rows” view enabled (see attached screenshots on my main post). What I referred to earlier as "Extended Pins" is essentially just a customized, expanded version of these shortcut rows.
The thumbnails are broken (just gray boxes), but when I click the shortcuts, they do open the correct pages. So it’s purely a visual issue, not a functional one.
Let me know if there's anything else you’d like me to test!

I can confirm this bug. It only occurs with custom graphics in the tiles on New Tab Page. If I clear the cache in the settings, the affected graphic appears the next time I start Firefox. If I restart Firefox, the tile is empty again. To see the custom graphic, I have to reload the page.

Are you on Nightly? Can you reproduce this in Firefox 143? (Trying to see if this is isolated to the reported version).
Additionally, how persistent is this issue? Does it happen every restart?
Thanks!

I'm using Firefox version 141.0.3 (Release Channel). I can reproduce this bug every time I restart Firefox.
New Tab Page after restart Firefox 141.0.3 - right tile in first row is a custom image.

Hello, thank you for the bug report!
Unfortunately I could not reproduce your issue. Can you reproduce the issue on Latetst Nightly? Here is a link from where you can download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/. Are you able to reproduce this issue at all on the latest builds?

Hello, thanks for your feedback.
Yes, I can reproduce the issue with the latest Firefox Nightly (145.0a1). German version, Windows 11, 23H2. The profile is brand new, not an old one. Same problem with the current Firefox release (143.0.1).
