Steps to reproduce:
Go to the add-ons manager and try to type in the search field for add-ons on add-ons.thunderbird.net. I can type fine in other parts of TB and outside TB. I downgraded to TB 140.0 and I can type fine. Seems like a bug in 141.0.
Actual results:
I can't type numbers or letters, only special characters.
Expected results:
Should be able to type letters and numbers.

I have reverted to version 140.1 and all works fine. I have switched from release to ESR so can I still re-install 141.0 and stay on ESR?

On Windows, you can use the .exe installer to do a custom install of 141 to it's own program directory. When it starts, it should automatically create a new profile directory for your data. Future starts from that program directory should use that new profile and not the ESR profile. And updates to that program directory will be "Release" not ESR. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-multiple-profiles. In short, you can effectively run ESR and release side by side, except for pop accounts. Feel free to PM if more questions about this.

I installed Thunderbird 141.0 into a new directory. Of course it has none of my customizations, add-ons, and local folders and I only added one email address whereas I normally have 9.
In this stripped down version of TB I was able to type into the search field for add-ons just fine. So I guess the problem is probably in my profile or one of my add-ons. I don't think I want to try to build a new profile and copy over all my custoomizations and add-ons at this time so I guess I'll just stick with 140 esr.
Thanks for the information about installing Release alongside ESR. I didn't know you could do that.

Since I knew I could revert again if necessary, I installed TB release version 141.0 over the top of my 140 esr. I then could not type into the search field again. I went into troublshoot mode and it worked fine. I re-enabled my add-ons one at a time and found the problem.
I was using add-on tbkeys-lite version 2.4.0 dated Jul 8, 2025. If I disabled that all worked fine.
I have reported the issue on the add-ons github site.
Thanks!
