A new SUMO article, Control personal device and local network permissions in Firefox was just approved in this August 28, 2025 revision as ready for localization. In Firefox settings for Privacy & Security, I see new Permissions entries for "Device apps and services" and "Local Network Devices" as the article describes, in Firefox 144 Nightly but NOT in Firefox 143 beta or the current Firefox 142 release. The article should clarify whether this new feature is a progressive rollout or if it's planned for a future Firefox release.
The article content and History page didn't indicate a bug report or any other reference so I did a bugzilla search. According to bug 1972350 comment 6 (release notes request): {Sumo Page is being constructed, we need to add it in the release note of 143} -> https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1974323 ....but bug 1974323 is "Access Denied" for me. Bug 1972350 was resolved fixed in fx143 and bug 1972350 comment 7 indicates, Added to the Nightly release notes, thanks.

Hi! Thanks for letting us know.
Initially, the stakeholder didn't mention the need to clarify whether the feature is a progressive rollout or not, but has agreed to update the article to mention this.
I'll add the note to the KB and close this bug if it's OK.

For the record, I see the new Firefox Privacy & Security Permissions entries for "Device apps and services" and "Local Network Devices" now, in Firefox Beta version 143.0b9 (Windows 11 en-US). I checked in about:studies and I see the following under Active Studies:
Local Network Access Rollout•Active
Rollout of the Local Network Access feature. New "localhost" and "local-network" permissions system allowing websites to access user devices and local networks. Users receive prompts when public websites attempt local machine or network access.
