User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/132.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
- Switch to Compact View.
- Make sure there are enough emails in the message list so the list becomes scrollable.
- Make sure there are many columns displayed so that a horizontal scrollbar appears at the bottom.
- Move the mouse cursor near the bottom of the message list, close to the horizontal scrollbar.
Actual results:
- When the mouse is near the bottom, the horizontal scrollbar is activated.
- The scrollbar overlaps the subject line of the last email, making it difficult or impossible to select the last email.
Expected results:
- The last email should remain fully visible and easily selectable even when the horizontal scrollbar is present.

(IIRC one has to set some hidden pref to make the columns scroll like that, normally they do not)

Hi Magnus,
Thank you very much for your kind reply and for looking into this.
I don’t remember I have enabled any special hidden preferences related to this behavior.
As shown in my attachments:
**002 (2731px) **→ When the Thunderbird window is wide enough horizontally, the horizontal scrollbar for the message list (column scrollbar) does not appear.
**003 (1906px) **→ When I make the window narrower by dragging the right vertical sidebar to the left, the horizontal scrollbar appears.
I hope this additional information and the screenshots are helpful for understanding the situation.
Please let me know if you need any further details or more screenshots.
Thank you again for your time and support.
Best regards,

Hi Wayne Mery (:wsmwk),
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I am also the creator of the link you mentioned. At first, I was not sure where I should submit the issue. Under the guidance of the staff, I opened a new thread in this(current) post, and Thunderbird Team closed the link you referred to.
By the way, I have noticed that this issue still seems to persist even after several Thunderbird updates. I am not sure if this is only happening on my side, which makes me a bit confused.
