Found in
- 142.0.1 (aarch64)
Tested platforms: MacOS 15.3.2 (24D81), Ubuntu:22.04
Preconditions
- browser.urlbar.showSearchTerms.featureGate set to TRUE (default in Nightly)
Steps to reproduce
- Open a new tab
- Enter @duckduckgo and press Tab to enter DuckDuckGo search mode
- Type "ubuntu 22.04" and press Enter to search
- Click the Images tab (address bar correctly shows full URL with no chip)
- Press Back to return to All
Expected result
*On the main results page (All), the address bar should again display the persisted search terms ("ubuntu 22.04") along with the DuckDuckGo engine chip.
Actual result
- On the main results page after pressing Back, the address bar displays the full DuckDuckGo URL (e.g., duckduckgo.com/?...&ia=web) and shows no engine chip; the search terms are not
persisted.
Regression range
- From 1921092
Additional Notes
- As shown in ScreenRecording2, if with default @google, after Step 5, it will rightly display the persisted search terms ("ubuntu 22.04") along with the Google engine chip.
