User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:142.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/142.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Open Thunderbird.
- Go to "File" → "New" → "Existing Mail Account" (or "Email Account").
- Enter the email account details.
- Observe that the wizard freezes and does not complete the setup.
Actual results:

The wizard becomes unresponsive and no new account is added.
Additional Information:
- Existing accounts in the profile work correctly and can send/receive emails.
- Sometimes a message appears saying "Folder could not be compacted because writing to folder failed," although existing accounts function normally.
- Profile path: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxxxx.default-release
- Profile size: ~20 GB

Likely duplicate of bug 1975860. Can't say further as you didn't say which domain you're setting up for.

Yes, this looks similar to bug 1975860, but I’d like to clarify my case:
The domain I’m setting up is hosted on IONOS.
I already have another account on the same server, using IMAP with a .es domain, which works fine.
The issue happens constantly whenever I try to create a new account – the account wizard freezes and I cannot proceed.
The screenshots presented in bug 1975860 match exactly what I see when the freeze happens.
Additionally, I also notice problems when trying to compact folders: Thunderbird shows a read/write error and fails to complete the operation.
So it may be related to bug 1975860, but I’m not sure if it’s exactly the same.
