- Click the profile's migrate button
Does the content need approval before publishing? If yes, identify the one approver responsible for this task.

I've been looking around trying to replicate this on Firefox Developer, but I can't see the profile migration button. Dave, can you provide me with a screenshot?

Bug 1996240 hasn't landed yet. Here is a screencast of the current behaviour of the patch

As you can see from the screencast the confirmation step includes a learn more link. It is currently linking to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-management but we may want to change that to point to wherever we document this functionality.

I see. I am thinking that this one should be more accurate: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles
What do you think?

Yes I think so. That doesn't seem to be linkable from our in-product links, I forget how we make that work

We simply turn into an in-product link. But we'll do that after we have the draft, and it's reviewed and ready to go. I think we can even anchor it directly to the Migrate section in the article.
Thank you. I'll come back to you with a draft ASAP.

Can you tell me what I need to use as the in-product link stub for this ahead of time? I can't land the patch without it.

Sure, do you need an in-product link for the whole article, or just for the Migrate section within the article?

Dave, I have it here: https://support.mozilla.org/1/firefox/%7Bversion%7D/%7Bplatform%7D/en-US/move-to-profile-menu
However, please be aware that the anchor won't work until the update is added to the KB article.

Flavius, You have a pending Nov 28, 2025 revision to the Profile Manager article "For 146 release". Can you add {for fx146} markup for the new content once Version 146 is added to the version picker? (See bug 2000072). Alternatively, could you add a note that the new "Move to profile menu" feature is for fx146 and above?
See comment 18 below (quote) This is not going to go out in 146

Is this still on track for the Firefox version 146 release?
The "Move to profile menu" button in about:profiles isn't available in the latest Firefox 146 beta and bug 1996240 is still open.

No, that work is currently waiting on a way to handle experimentation data.

Sorry looks like I failed to comment in the bug already. This is not going to go out in 146.
