I set misc-fixed-iso8859-15 font in Appearance->fonts for almost everything.
Frequently I see distorted letters. Entire text line have less than normal height
and one or more of 'scan lines' are missing.
This gets worse if I scroll a page slowly up and down with mouse several times.
I can even force some lines to get doubled scanlines.
Switching to the other tab (or even another (non-mozilla) window) and back
restores uncorrupted page.
Seems like floating point rounding errors in font size calculations.
Konqueror does not exhibit such behavior on this system.

On the left is Firefox 0.9.1 (linux) displaying google search results in
chinese. As you can see (comparing to the opera window on the right) some
characters are white (they appear if we select them) and others are just simply
messed up.
I am seing this too with FireFox 1.0 (Linux/Suse9.1/KDE3.3.1).
In an attempt to put things together, I am listing here bug reports that seem
related to me. Sorry for not doing more analysis (and reading all the comments
of all bugs listed here) or for the bugspam but I really think this linking
might be useful. Please note that this bug is listed too (as I put the same in
different bugs).

I built this list by searching for scroll and font in the comments from newest
to oldest going up to the first one of this list (feel free to search further)
and I might have missed some.
I put the OS as it seems there is a link between them: is it due to the usage of
a common deployed library, a bug in an OS' library, ...?

This is just another pixel-rounding problem, but most have been fixed since this
was reported. Vlasenko: are you still seeing this?

I still see this with Firefox 1.0
Moreover, I narrowed it down.
If "Display resolution" is "System settings" and there is no
user_pref("browser.display.screen_resolution", NN);
line in prefs.js, then I see the bug.
If I configure 96 dpi screen resolution
and restart firefox, issue is fixed.
Note that my XFree 4.5.0 has only "misc" sibdir
in /usr/X11R6-4.5.0/lib/X11/fonts directory.
All other fonts/* subdirs were removed, and some fonts
were also removed from fonts/misc.

I tried 72 dpi and non-standard 85 dpi. Don't see the
bug. "System setting" consistenly shows the bug.
