In bug 1999998 comment 4 it was proposed that we find a way to target users based on the underlying provider domain (following a large-scale problem related to infrastructure changes at Yahoo!)

This bug addresses the need to expose a new targeting parameter collection in the in-app notification system called provider_domains that will allow us to target users based on the values stored for each account:

• mail.server.server2.hostname
• mail.server.server3.hostname
• etc

Ideally, we would match on part of the domain name so we can use...

• gmail.com instead of imap.gmail.com
• yahoo.com instead of imap.mail.yahoo.com
• office365.com instead of outlook.office365.com
• etc
