1. access http://www.citibank.com.sg
2. click Customer Login
3.
Actual Results:
Login Difficulty Reported
A java applet required to Login was not loaded in your browser. Any of the
following might be the problem:
1. You are using an unsupported or old browser version
2. Your java settings have been disabled on your browser
3. A Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is not installed on your computer
4. Login via a corporate network or LAN:
Please check and verify the following:
1. Check whether you are using an old or unsupported browser version
Supported Browsers For PC (Windows OS)
* Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x or higher (With 128-bit encryption)
* Netscape 4.7x (With 128-bit encryption)
Supported Browser For MAC OS X (Ver10.2)
* For Mac Users: Netscape Communicator 7.01
Please Note:
Citibank does not support Netscape 6.0
How to check which browser version you are using
To check your current browser version, select "Help" in your browser menu and
locate "About Internet Explorer" for Microsoft Internet Explorer users or "About
Netscape" for Netscape users.
What you should do if you are using an old browser version or Netscape 6.0
If you are using an old or unsupported browser version you should either upgrade
your browser or switch to a supported version to do your Internet banking
* Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x or higher:
Go to the Microsoft site to download.
* Netscape Communicator 4.7x:
Go to the Netscape site to download.
* Netscape Communicator 7.01 for MAC users
Go to the Netscape site to download.
Please Note:
A browser download could take up to 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on the speed
(baud rate) of your modem and the general level of Internet traffic at the time.
It is recommended that you perform the download when you expect to not use your
telephone line for a period of time.

2.Verify the java settings in your browser are enabled
To run the java applet, the java settings in your browser need to be enabled. To
verify that the java settings in your browser are enabled, please do the following:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x or higher:
* Select "Tools" from the browser Menu bar
* Select "Internet Options"
* Select "Security" tab
* Locate "Custom Level"
* Locate "Scripting" and verify that "Active Scripting" is enabled
* Locate "Scripting of java applets" and verify it is enabled
* Locate "Microsoft VM" and ensure that java option is not disabled and the
security setting is set to "Medium safety"
Netscape Communicator 4.7x:
* Select "Edit" from the browser Menu bar
* Select "Preferences"
* Double click on "Advanced"
* Verify that "Enable java" and "Enable JavaScript" are selected
* Select the "OK" button

3. Check that the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is installed along with your browser
A JVM, which is normally installed on most computers, is also required to run
java applets in your browser. However, there are some cases where the JVM may
not have been installed or is an older version no longer supported.
Check to see if you have the Java Virtual Machine installed:
* From your desktop select the "Start" button.
* Select "Run"
* Type "WJVIEW" in the "Open" text box
* A pop-up window will display the JVM version information. It should be
version 5.00.3802 or above.
If you do not have a JVM version 5.00.3802 or above or you do not have a JVM
installed:
You can visit the Sun Microsystems website to download & install the Sun Java™
Virtual Machine plug-in for your computer click here

4. Login via a corporate network or LAN:
Computers operating on a corporate network or LAN may have had their settings
configured by local IT support group such that users cannot download applets or
have not been given sufficient java permissions to download java applets.
i get the following error messages;
"If you are having difficulty logging in using a computer attached to a company
network or LAN and have verified that you are using a proper browser with the
proper settings mention above, please check with your local IT support group to
set your browser and computer settings so that you will be able to access
Internet Banking."
Expected Results:
Get the Java applet loaded properly. i'm sorry i am not technical expert.
Seems to WorkForMe using FizzillaMach/2003040103. I click Customer Login and see
a form prompting me for a Card Number and a PIN.
Jeffrey, can you reproduce this problem using another Mozilla user profile?

Thanks for prompt response again. I am indeed impressed!!
Using Mozilla 1.3a work perfectly fine but since the 1.3b onwards to official
1.3 release and now 1.4a, don’t work. The problem happen after I enter the my
personal info and PIN no. The next webpage load with error message as was
attached to you earlier or below. How do I create new Mozilla user profile?

Jeffrey

I cannot reproduce this bug using Mozilla 1.8a4 (8/28/04 build) under MacOSX
10.3.5. The login page works for me without any Java applet error.
Currently, the site says it supports Netscape 7.02 and Safari 1.2+ as Mac
browsers. (It doesn't indicate whether Netscape 7.1 or 7.2 are supported.)
Obviously, the requirements have changed since this report was filed. It's also
possible that the Java applet has changed since then, as well.

J Jolando, if you were using OS X 10.1, this is a dupe of bug 197453
