Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:146.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/146.0

Steps to reproduce:

Tried to set up a filter for "LinkedIn" in "To" field.

Actual results:

Nothing happened.

Expected results:

Should have filtered on this key. I've used filters before, quite successfully, on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Is this an Ubuntu issue?

145.0 (64-bit)
Also tried to "Repair" (ha ha ha) the mailboxes. Nothing.

Ubuntu Linux 25.10

OS: Unspecified → Linux
Hardware: Unspecified → x86_64

(Unlikely to be OS specific.)

You didn't really give steps to reproduce. When is the filter set to apply (manual run, etc.), and did that trigger happen?
Check filter logs.

Component: Untriaged → Filters

Filter logs are empty. I checked many times.
I tried manual, I tried on start, I tried from the menu.
Nothing worked. It is as though the filter never existed.

Not only are logs empty, filters are not working at all.

(In reply to Worcester12345 from comment #5)

Not only are logs empty, filters are not working at all.

Please provide the exact filter settings that fail for you, if possible as screenshot of the 'Filter Rules' and 'Message Filters' dialogs. Is this on IMAP, NNTP (server or folder) or local folder?

Regarding the empty log, please see also bug 2001009.

This is on IMAP, on Yahoo mail. What should the proper settings for that be?

It seems filters are now working again, but still not logging at all.

Perhaps this is Bug 1990129 - Something wrong with CopyFileMessage() for IMAP folders.
Please post the exact filter rules as previously requested.

still not logging at all.

Logging is fixed in beta 148, per bug 2001009. But filter log won't help tell us why a message isn't being moved because it only shows filter rule matches.

This is on IMAP, on Yahoo mail. What should the proper settings for that be?

That's getting into support territory. (and generally speaking imap settings dont affect filters)
