1. Go to https://self-signed.badssl.com/
2. Accept the risk
3. open shield icon

Got result: "Connection Secure" is displayed with intact lock icon
Expected result: "Connection not secure" is displayed with lock icon containing warning symbol

Perhaps also expected result: a warning icon on the trust icon within the URL bar that the connection is not secure.
