This looks like a cosmetic issue.

Severity: normal → S4
Priority: -- → P2

The bug is marked as tracked for firefox147 (release), tracked for firefox148 (beta) and tracked for firefox149 (nightly). However, the bug still isn't assigned and has low severity.

:dmehic, could you please find an assignee and increase the severity for this tracked bug? Given that it is a regression and we know the cause, we could also simply backout the regressor. If you disagree with the tracking decision, please talk with the release managers.

I confirmed that this is a cosmetic issue only so it doesn't need to be fixed with urgency. There is also currently a discussion with the team about how disabled child checkboxes should behave generally. We might end up keeping the behavior as-is and just rely on the disabled state to indicate that the checkbox is not applicable.

Closing this after UX feedback. This is an intended behavior change.
