Affected versions

  • Fx 149.0a1

Affected platforms

  • Windows
  • macOS
  • Ubuntu

Pre-conditions

  • browser.settings-redesign.enabled set to true
  • browser.search.separatePrivateDefault.ui.enabled set to true

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox and navigate to about:preferences#search.
  2. Click on the drop-down to choose the default search engine for private windows.
  3. Click on the default search engine drop-down.

Expected result

  • Only 1 drop-down is open at a time.

Actual result

  • Both drop-downs are opened, causing them to overlap.

Regression range

  • This is not a recent regression.

Additional notes

  • Issue occurs with the browser.settings-redesign.enabled pref set to false.
  • Both drop-downs remain open even if the order they're clicked in is reversed.

Moving across to settings UI, I suspect this might be an issue with the custom widget that we have for search engines.
