The 4 rightmost toolbar icons (Next - Stop) are visible in white when the help menu is down; the Print icon is visible also in the Tasks menu. The message icons are visible on top of the View, Search, and Go menus. Linux build 1999.11.29.08

That second screen shot is of a similar problem in the compose window, where the pull down fields (From:, format, font) show through the menus.
