Any idea, if any body else gets this?
Alex,

This looks trivial to me if, in fact, it only occurs when you type thousands of
characters without a space. We have hundreds of bugs that are worse than this one.

If I understand your screenshot, in a standard textarea box that would normally
wrap on a space, if you type text with no spaces the text eventually disappears.
Selecting some if it (with mouse, etc.) makes it reappear. I was able to
reproduce it, but it happened at about 4095 characters in a single line. That
doesn't seem like an unreasonable limitation to me.

BTW, Interesting to see that the UK educational system is capable of producing
grads with as bad grammar and spelling as the US.
Severity: normal → trivial
Has anybody managed to reproduce this?

I can reproduce this bug in Mozilla 1.7b 20040305 and Firefox 20040305 0.8.0+

If the value in the text box exceeds 4095 consecutive non-whitespace
characters, it isn't shown.

Try out the attachment and please let me know if this is the same problem.

Note that View->Page Source renders the long text invisible (at least on Mac OS
X. I haven't tested Windows yet, see bug 235344). So if you wish to confirm the
presence of the X characters in the code, try loading the attachment in a
different browser, or just copy the page source and paste it in a text editor
and the text should reappear.
