This seems to happen when there are a lot of bookmarks.
Steps to reproduce:
- Save a significant number of bookmarks and folders
- Open updated bookmarks sidebar Ctrl+B
- Type search term in the search field of the sidebar
- Right-click a result of bookmarks
- Choose
Show in Folder
Actual results:
Sometimes, the folder containing the target bookmark item is not expanded
The triggered bookmark item is not selected. It does not scroll into view.
Expected results:
The triggered bookmark item should be selected. And it should scroll so that it is displayed on the screen.

Ardelean, could you or someone else on the QA team see if you can reproduce this issue? Our team can't seem to.

Hi Kelly!
I tested using Alice’s steps in Comment 0 and could reproduce the issue consistently on Firefox Nightly 154.0a1, but not on Firefox 153.0b3. Testing was done on Windows 10, Ubuntu 22 and macOS 13.
The bookmark folders expands when triggering the 'Show in Folder' option, but the bookmark is not scrolled into view.
For ease of testing, I used Sync to login into an account that already had a large number of bookmarks saved.
Unfortunately I could not get a more concise regression range, but mozregression narrowed down the regression window to this range: https://hg-edge.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=da4fdb0674c4744a9489b4a113eb61927d11216d&tochange=41bab63bf46ac59a75d77e8dd277c8278072417d
Please let me know if there's anything else we should take into account, thank you.
