Vertical tabs panel works only for a while, then the hover expanding ignores the hover.
To make it work again, you need to catch the edge of the panel (marked on the screenshot) and move it somehow, i.e. change its size. Since then the hover works again for a while.

My OS is Ubuntu, Firefox version 152.0.1, canonical-0.0.2 - 1.0

In addition, sometimes you cannot even click on the edge and change the size. Then the only solution is to click right button on the sidebar > Customize sidebar > Vertical tabs > and uncheck "Expand sidebar on hover". Then select the checkbox again and it starts working again for a while.

Thanks for your report. It appears that there are a few reports of this issue on Linux.

If possible, could you clarify the steps (or record a video) leading up to this behavior? I see an issue where the sidebar can stay expanded when moving the mouse outside the Firefox window – but then, returning to the window restores normal behavior. It sounds like that is not happening in your case.

Since a week this bug seems to be fixed in my current version 152.0.6, the tabs panel works as expected, not getting blocked.

Sometimes the case that you described also happened - it remained expanded. Now I cannot reproduce it any more (seems to be fixed in 152.0.6 ?) - sometimes it remained expanded "forever", even when I moved the mouse back to the expanded panel and again out of the panel it was still kept expanded.
