Steps to reproduce
- Open a new tab
- Focus the URL bar
- Tap the Google Lens logo at the right side
- Tap back and forth between Google Lens and QR-Code-Scanner at the bottom of the screen, and look at the title-text at the top of the screen.
Expected behavior
Readable title-text, dodging the "unsafe" top portion of the screen where there might be a front-facing camera lens.
Actual behavior
The title text overlaps my front-facing camera lens (which is a cutout in my phone's screen), so some of the title-text is missing. Specifically:
- In the "Google Lens" title-text, the top halves of the "le" characters are missing.
- In the "QR Code" title, the top halves of the "C" character is missing.
Device information
- Firefox version: 154.0a1 Nightly 2026-07-09
- Android device model: Pixel 10 Pro XL
- Android OS version: 17
Any additional information?
On my Pixel 6a, the title-text is a bit lower for some reason, and it doesn't overlap the camera lens there.
But on my Pixel 10 Pro XL, it's smooshed right against the top of the screen, even looking like it overlaps the system tray which is briefly visible as I enter scanner mode.

(In reply to Daniel Holbert [:dholbert] from comment #0)
On my Pixel 6a, the title-text is a bit lower for some reason, and it doesn't overlap the camera lens there.
Update: I've now managed to also trigger the bug (text overlapping camera lens cutout) on my Pixel 6a.
STR there:
- Open Android Settings app.
- Tap "Display & Touch" and then "Display size & text"
- Drag the "Font size" slider all the way to the right (maximum font size), and the "Display size" slider all the way to the left (minimum display size). (for maximum effect - the issue happens with other combinations of these sliders too, but this is the easiest to describe & see)
- Open Firefox Nightly and perform STR from comment 0.
See attached photo of the results, with top half of "C" missing (on Pixel 6a)

Relatedly, the x in the top-left-corner is un-tappable for several seconds, as you enter the Google Lens view, because it's covered up by the system tray (which is transparent but absorbs taps).
You can see that overlap in my video that I attached in comment 1. From at least t=2s to t=5s in that video, you can see the "x" in the top left corner is overlapping the time (4:40). I'm not tapping that area in the video -- but if I do (attempt to tap the x), the tap doesn't make it to the x because it's blocked by the system tray, and so it doesn't have any effect.
Eventually the system tray gets auto-hidden, and then the x becomes tappable.
I'm mentioning this here rather than filing a separate bug about it because the x icon and the "Google Lens/QR Code" titles are at the same y-position on-screen -- and shifting them both downwards on the screen is probably the right way to address both issues (so that the "x" can dodge the system tray and the title can dodge the camera cutout).

Maybe worth an uplift to 154?
This does look much better on Nightly, but 154beta (with secret setting enabled) is still affected.
