Trivial (unless document otherwise) is not serious enough to track for release, also pretty sure not new.

Just sent either this, or something similar, to another bug.

Thanks. The only information needed is if the problem actually goes away, or your have a solution, or you have new information about how to reproduce.

I'd be waiting for a fix to come in here, or otherwise will just have to check periodically.

...or your have a solution, or you have new information about how to reproduce.
I can reproduce it by simply opening Thunderbird.

Changing versions. It looks like this was since version 140. I am now changing it to 153.
I am currently running 153.0b10 (64-bit), and it is still there.

Actually, 140 sounds a little old. I wonder if I just never set it, and it defaulted to that for some reason. Or is 140 the actual shipping version, and the 153's are the non-shipping beta version. Either way, it is definitely on 153.0b10 (64-bit) and the bug still exists.

There is no default version number - bugzilla has no way to know what Thunderbird version you are using?
I doubt this is new in v153 and we set the version to the oldest version known to have the issue.

This console message hasn't existed in 140. How do you know it's trivial without investigating? I can't tell when it first appeared, but I noticed in TB 153 ESR. Install, create a new profile, here you have it:
module is not a constructor ExtensionCommon.sys.mjs:1679:15
asyncGetAPI resource://gre/modules/ExtensionCommon.sys.mjs:1679
AsyncFunctionNext self-hosted:780

Also happens on Windows, doesn't look like it's platform specific.

The code is here:
https://searchfox.org/firefox-main/rev/589a93df90e7924d92b7a8bd03c773203ee70690/toolkit/components/extensions/ExtensionCommon.sys.mjs#1679
It doesn't actually look trivial at all if a Mozilla platform API asyncGetAPI() fails.

I agree this needs investigation right now, otherwise we'll be stuck with this issue for decades.
Trivial (unless document otherwise)
At first glance, I don't think so.

This removes the error message. By the way, the fluent might not be related after all.

This should probably be moved to https://github.com/thunderbird/tbpro-add-on. Can you do that, Alejandro?

It's a built-in system add-on since version 153. The issue has already been diagnosed.

OK. I must have missed that. When you say "diagnosed", I am guessing that does not mean "fixed", or you would have said that, correct?
Is there anything further I can help with to test this or help get it fixed?
Thank you.

Can you please verify if this still happens on daily? We landed a fix earlier this week.

Today I also noticed the error message module is not a constructor in Thunderbird 153.2.0 and Thunderbird 155.0. Indeed the problem does not occur anymore since Daily 2026-09-01.
