(Whiteboard: [filterfail])
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:153.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/153.0
Steps to reproduce:
I ran five tests on a message filter rule which moves the message out of the inbox into a different folder:
- Keyword: "unsubscribe"
- Filter rule: Body contains "unsubscribe"
- Perform action: Move Message to Folder
Each test used a message with the subject "test" and the body containing only the word "unsubscribe"
Tests
Test 1
- Filter rule applied when: "Getting New Mail: Filter After Spam Classification"
- Message sent to inbox from an external email account (new message received)
Test 2
- Filter rule applied when: "Getting New Mail: Filter Before Spam Classification"
- Message sent to inbox from an external email account (new message received)
Test 3
- Filter rule applied when: "Getting New Mail: Filter After Spam Classification"
- Message moved to inbox from an existing folder (message already received)
Test 4
- Filter rule applied when: "Getting New Mail: Filter Before Spam Classification"
- Message moved to inbox from an existing folder (message already received)
Test 5
- Filter rule applied when: Manually run"
- Message already in the inbox (no filters applied on it yet)

- [X} Allow immediate server notifications when new messages arrive
Spam Settings
- [X] Enable adaptive spam controls for this account
- [ ] Trust spam headers set by: SpamAsssassin
- [X] Move new spam messages to: "Spam" folder on iCloud
Actual results:
Test 1
Filter rule was not applied and the message was not moved to the designated folder.
Test 2
Filter rule was not applied and the message was not moved to the designated folder.
Test 3
Filter rule was not applied and the message was not moved to the designated folder.
Test 4
Filter rule was applied and the message was moved to the designated folder
Test 5
Filter rule was applied and the message was moved to the designated folder
Expected results:
In all five tests, the filter should have been applied and the message should have been moved into the designated folder, as each message only contained the keyword that should have triggered the filter.
There were no other filters that would have stopped filter execution. Additionally, any filter rules that could have stopped the filter execution would have prevented tests 4 and 5 from working, but those tests were successful.

Sounds like bug 294632. Are you trying to run filters in test1, test2 and test3 on folders other than the inbox? Also, from what folder to which folder are you moving? Please take note your issue could also potentially be a duplicate of bug 892424, but we would need more debugging data from your side to either confirm or rule it out.

So it's the "(new message received)" cases that fail.
Please check the filter logs for clues. I don't think there's enough info to proceed atm.

Chris, did this work for you before version 153?
If it worked before, then it shouldn't be one of the mentioned bug reports.

Do you see anything in Tools > Developer > Console?
