Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210
(probably related to the bug #199804, but in my case I can reproduce the "sorry"
dialog every time I download something)
There are many Web pages with link like "click here to download", then Mozilla
calles Download manager without asking the location to save, filename, etc.,
and start download. In progress bar, when I see that 100% of file was
succesfully downloaded, Download manager pops up the dialog:
'C:\DOCUM~1\..... could not be opened because unknown error occured.
Sorry about that. Try saving to disk first and then opening the file.
But (1) I don't find the way to tell where to save the file, with what name.
It just uses WinXP's users directory, which personally I don't like to use.
(2) Since the link on the page is programed to open the executable after
the download (?) I don't find the way to tell Mozilla only to save without
launching.
Or please tell me, if you know, where to edit in configuration file
to change the default path for downloading.
Now every time I need to download a program from the net, and after seeing
the error dialog, I download the same file all over again the MS Internet
Explorer. ;(
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click a Link which invoke the Download manager.
for example, this link produced the problem 100% of times on my PC.
<http://www.winamp.com/download/download.jhtml;$sessionid$WSXZLH3OMENWVTN241GRC0A?_DARGS=%2Fdownload%2Findex.jhtml.1>
Actual Results:
Download manager pops up the dialog:
'C:\DOCUM~1\..... could not be opened because unknown error occured.
Sorry about that. Try saving to disk first and then opening the file.
Expected Results:
Giving me a chance to decide the path and the name of the downloaded file,
and giving me to chose only save without trying to execute the downloaded
program.

I have the very same problem. I can often (though not always) right click and
select 'save target as' to circumvent this problem, but it would be nice to have
this fixed. :)

Sorry, a little addition. I'm using the latest build of Mozilla (1.4 RC1).
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030529
I also have Firebird 0.6 installed, next to mozilla 1.4 RC1. Not sure if that
might influence anything.

This looks like a duplicate of bug 193868, which has some workaround tips
