Steps to reproduce:
Tried to move a tab
(Firefox 140.13.0esr (64-bit), the default in Debian 13)
Actual results:
Some unexpected message about tab groups appeared.
I don't know what tab groups are since I have never enabled that functionality and do not want to see them.
I know have a random blue square on the tab bar taking up space.
When I delete the blue square it deletes the tabs I had previously created!
Expected results:
(preferably) disable ALL tab group functionality until users explicitly turn it on
(even if you refuse to do that) disable tab group functionality that can be performed by accident with a mouse.
(and definitely) rename the "Delete tab group" right-click entry to "Delete tab group and all the tabs it contains")

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Tabbed Browser' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi Andy, thank you for the feedback. It sounds like you found the setting from bug 2033961 that allows you to turn off this tab dragging behavior that's on by default.
We'll keep reviewing how users use the tab drag-to-group behavior and consider whether this behavior should be off by default.
The "Delete group" menu option is red to indicate a destructive action; the "Ungroup tabs" menu option right above it will remove the group but keep the tabs open and in place in your tab strip. Thanks for the feedback about the language. I personally agree that the "Ungroup tabs" option is not very clear.

Not yet - I'm on "140.14.0esr" (it was updated this morning. I'll wait for 150 to work its way through Debian's processes and for that option to appear.
