This does not reproduce for context menus that have already been invoked before the preference was enabled, so one should resize or re-initialise the browser before attempting to reproduce it.

Yes, it's known issue with Wayland protocol which does not allow to use xdg-positioner for non-adjacent popus. A partial workaround may be to place the popup directly inside Firefox window if possible.
