Did you want to nominate this for the Fx159 relnotes? If so, set the relnote-firefox flag to "?"
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Release_Management/Release_Notes_Nomination
Possible wording:
On macOS, apps that sign in through the default browser, such as ChatGPT, now open their sign-in page in Firefox instead of Safari when Firefox is the default browser.
Verified as fixed in Firefox 159.0b1-build1. When Firefox is set as the default browser, the sign-in page opens correctly for Evernote, Mail, and the ChatGPT desktop application on macOS 14, 26, and 27 (aarch64). On macOS 11, only the Mail and Evernote apps were tested since ChatGPT is not supported.

Hmm, looks like my release note request wasn't recorded when I submitted it? Resubmitting...
Release Note Request (optional, but appreciated)
[Why is this notable]: This allows users on macOS with Firefox as their default browser to stay within Firefox during log-in flows originating from third party apps.
[Affects Firefox for Android]: No
[Suggested wording]: On macOS, apps that sign in through the default browser, such as ChatGPT, now open their sign-in page in Firefox instead of Safari when Firefox is the default browser.
