BUT: not always!
Empty folders don´t show the +,
only folders which contain files but not folders show the + and are not
expandable in this menue, they are expandable in the Bookmarks -> Manage
Bookmarks menue.

still, nothing happens unless the folder contains sub-folders and that is not
intuitive

Sounds like the reporter wants to have the (+) to not be displayed when a folder
contains only files (not folders).

yes indeed, it seems to be not useful to show a plus if clicking on it doesn't
expand any folder tree where the bookmark could be put into one of the subfolders
