207419 - mail view messages new, unread, etc. applies to all folders, not just currently selected

If I click View -> Messages -> All in the mail window, the selection is applied
to all folders, including newsgroups. Then, when I view a newsgroup, I have to
selected View -> Messages -> Unread for that group. Now, when I return to my Inbox
folder, only the unread messages are displayed... so View->Messages->All !!!

This only appeared when I upgraded to 1.4b. I worked fine in 1.4a. Last night's
build (may 27/03) has not changed things.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Seelct Inbox folder, Select View->Message->All
2. Select News folder, All messages are displayed
3. Select View-Messages->Unread
4. Go to Inbox, only unread messages are displayed



Expected Results:  
The View-Message-?? Should only apply to the currently selected folder.

Also observed. Annoying, since "unread" is a pretty standard default for news,
but "all" is pretty standard for mail. So much back and forth switching.

However, I thought I also saw this problem in 1.4a, not just 1.4b/rc.

It seemed to appear along with the small drop down menu above the message view pane.

This seems to be a duplicate of bug 206131; perhaps there's an older one as 
well.  Bob van der Poel, do you agree this is a dupe?
