Reporter:
Please try this :
close Mozilla, run "mozilla -profilemanager" and create an additional test
profile. Does it work with this test Profile ?
if not :
Uninstall Mozilloa, delete the whole Mozilla apllication folder manully and
reinstall Mozilla

rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030709

I had the same problem in 1.4rc3, deleted compreg.dat as suggested by mversen in
bug 213698 and it worked again.
However, I'm not sure whether this bug is really fixed (installing 1.5a might
have deleted compreg.dat and therefore hides the bug for reporter in comment #3).
This seems rather related to bug 180672 which has a long list of bugs it blocks,
but is in itself yet unconfirmed.

it would be bug 203689 but you would get a error message in that case.
The compreg.dat will be regenerated if you upgrade your build with the installer.
